ROGERS – Pinnacle Country Club Superintendent Todd Towery is a bit of a perfectionist.

After much anticipation, the P&G Beauty NW Arkansas Championship is finally here.

Ryan Malashock and myself (Nathan Allen) will be covering the event this week for The Morning News, and we’re hoping to bring you the latest news and most interesting features for you to read throughout the week. Be sure to not only check the newspaper everyday and The Morning News’ web site for all of the stories we’ll be writing, but you can also check this blog throughout the week for the latest news and notes from the tournament.

As Ryan and I arrived here at Pinnacle Hills this afternoon, I noticed there weren’t a lot of people present, except for tournament volunteers and television crews setting up equipment for CBS’ live coverage this weekend.

There are a couple of things to report:

• Both Miriam Nagl and Laura Diaz have both withdrawn from the tournament for various reasons. Diaz has had three Top 10 finishes this season and has earned $427,571.

• Although nothing is official, all indications are that Inbee Park will not participate in this week’s tournament. Park, 19, became the youngest player to ever win the U.S. Women’s Open in Edina, Minn., on Sunday.
